Drogba can not help

A little over 20 minutes played with Didier Drogba were not sufficient to allow the Montreal Impact to maintain its perfect record. The Impact suffered a first defeat this season, 2-0 at the hands of FC Dallas on Saturday in Texas.

Despite some good scoring opportunities, it is the local team that has mastered the clearest of the game, which led to his two goals late in the second half.

FC Dallas has not hesitated to set the tone in the first match of the Impact on natural surface this season. He received 52% possession of the ball after 45 minutes, and 51% at the end of the meeting.

At the 62nd minute, a foray Fabian Castillo put the Montreal defense test. Evan Bush made the save, and the ball ended up in the middle of the penalty area at the foot of another player from Dallas, but the referee whistled for hand ball.

Four minutes later, the central defender Laurent Ciman cleared his head to a free kick in the penalty area.

Drogba set foot on the pitch in the 70th minute, replacing Lucas Ontivero. The big Ivorian immediately made his presence felt when he just missed to deflect a ball head.

But they are the crowd favorites who scored the first goal. In the 78th minute, a well measured Mauro DГaz ball went over the wall to finish in the top corner.

Maximiliano Urruti dealt a blow to the impact a few minutes later. Jesse Gonzalez keeper cleared towards Tesho Akindele, who handed to Maximiliano Urruti. The latter then overflowed its roofer to defeat Bush.

Raided three against two of the local team on the next action foundered when Akindele could not refocus the ball.

Anthony Jackson-Hamel got a golden opportunity to give some hope to the visitors. Boasting a pass from Drogba, the Quebecers saw his shot end up on the fly in the gloves of the keeper saves.

In short

The Impact has committed 16 fouls in the game, against eight for FC Dallas.

The Blue-White-Black will receive a week off. The troupe of Mauro Biello will resume the collar on April 2 against the Sounders in Seattle.
