Quebecers will spend over $ 100 to celebrate Easter this year, and most of them enjoy the party to deliver gifts to their relatives.
No less than eight of ten Quebecers (82%) believe that Easter is an occasion to celebrate with family and friends and on average they spend $ 105 for the party, according to a survey conducted for the Quebec Retail Council of Commerce ( DSRC).
For 59% of respondents, Easter is an opportunity to deliver gifts. For families with children, the rate jumps to 71%.
The chocolate remains the most popular purchase, while 78% of Quebecers plan to offer. For families with children is 89% who will buy this candy.
Easter is celebrated in full season of sugars, maple products are popular with consumers, while 43% of them in will provide. About a third of Quebecers (31%) will buy flowers or plants to liven up the party, which also marks the end of winter to a very large number (71%).
The restorers also benefit from the Paschal feast, while a three Quebecers (32%) plan to go sustenance in a restaurant. A special meal prepared at home is also a popular option, while nearly three out of five Quebecers planning to organize one.
The survey also found that over a third of Quebecers aged between 34 and 45 think the activities organized in malls, "an important trend with families and particularly women," says CQCD.
"For retailers, this is a time to create the appointment with the customer and offer a different shopping experience in-store," commented LГ©opold Turgeon, president of the CQCD.
The survey was conducted between 3 and March 8 by The Observer to 6000 users. In total, 1276 people completed the questionnaire. Results were weighted to reflect a gender balance.
